This slip-on LCD Screen Cover allows you to print overnight without the blinding effects of the Anet A6 screen illuminating the entire room (this has not been tested on an A8, although I am sure it can be modified to fit). This was a problem for me because, due to the limited space of my 3-person apartment, my printer is housed in my bedroom.
I have included two models: a blank cover and a cover embossed with my initials for concept proof. Feel free to download the .ipt or .step files and upload a remix as you wish. Just please remember to attribute. I'd love to see the awesome designs that could come out of this.
When using 15% infill, a slight amount of light allows the cover to have a subtle glow. This gives a pretty neat lithophane effect. The amount of light that shows through can obviously be altered by increasing infill or using a darker color filament, although the setup in which I printed doesn't allow enough light through to even notice.
For printing with no supports and optimal light blocking, position the cover upside down on the print bed as shown in the photos. This orients the grid infill parallel to the screen and perpendicular to the emitted light.
