Are you tired of nursing full rolls of filament during a print so the filament doesn't come off the side of the spool and tangle? I sure was so I designed this filament guide which eliminates the problem!
It's made of 3 parts > two identical sides and one end guide piece. You just slip the sides onto the 1/2" metal conduit (or smaller rod) so that the interlocking bevels are facing outward. Then feed the filament through the end guide and slide both side pieces into the slots until they snap into place.
To change spools, just push the interlocks inward and slip the end guide off. While I made this for the FolgerTech FT-5, it certainly will find many other applications.
One thing of note is that this is a snug fit so make sure you have your extrusion multiplier dialed in for a 0.48 wall thickness and your ESteps are correct. If you overextrude, it won't fit.
Since it was a snug fit for those who don't have their printers dialed in, I gave an extra 0.5mm gap on the updated files. I also made the guide area for the filament narrower so it stays more in the center of the roll. I also radiused the edges to help guide the filament more smoothly.
I've also included a set for wider rolls with the same improvements. Hope they help you! They help me!
