This is a simple 3D printed RC boat, optimized for 0.4mm nozzles.
The entire build can be done in only 3 hours (including print time)!
The boat uses very simple and common electronics:
- any transmitter and reciever
- small standard brushed motor (see pictures)
- small servo like this one: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__9392__Turnigy_MG90S_Digital_Metal_Gear_Servo_1_8kg_13_4g_0_10sec.html
- an ESC made out of an old servo controller (http://www.instructables.com/id/Jury-Rigging-A-Servo-To-Drive-A-Low-Voltage-Motor/#step1)
To make the boat water tight, several layers of ABS slurry were applyed on the inside and outside (http://www.instructables.com/id/100-Warp-Free-MakerBot-3D-Printing/step1/Put-ABS-Scraps-and-Acetone-in-a-Jar/)
I hope you enjoy this little project, and be sure to check out my profile for more RC stuff!
