Neverending Story Southern Oracle

Be confident, Atreyu! BE CONFIDENT!
Here is my updated version of the Sphinx from the 1980's movie The Neverending Story. I pulled the parts together from a variety of sources, and got what I think is a pretty faithful approximation. It's got a lot of textures, and will need quite a bit of support no matter which way you print it. The same models were used for both the 1st gate (orange) and the southern oracle itself (blue) Mirror it to get a matching pair!

While I am happy to share the things I design here for people to print for their personal collections, please do not make them to sell.

Ender 3 Pro V-Slot covers

$

Why

I needed some way to prevent dust from depositing within the v-slots. The original profile fits the slots perfectly! However, I needed more sizes.
The following combination should be enough to cover most of the top-facing and front-facing slots of a Ender 3 Pro.

How it works

Measure twice! Those measures fit an Ender 3 Pro.
Add supports for the top_screws part. The rest doesn't require any.
Print flat with the largest part at the bottom.

Files included:

please see attached pdf for which parts and positions.

  • slot_cover_200mm
  • slot_cover_175mm
  • slot_cover_165mm_top_holes
  • slot_cover_165mm
  • slot_cover_143mm (the original version)
  • slot_cover_105mm (fitting those parts might require unscrewing of the original assembly, so take this into consideration)

Print settings

Make sure you enabled printing of thin features (e.g. Print Thin Walls, in Cura)

Height adjustable router attachment for rotary tool

You can attach this thing to your Dremel to turn it into a router. Basically it provides the same functionality as a Dremel 565 kit.

adjustable-router-attachment.stl contains all the parts.
base-only.stl and mount-only.stl (uploaded as per MrJelle's request) allow you to print them separately.

Universal and Invisible Tablet / Phone Wall Mount

++Update 2017-09-25++
Made the distance piece a little thicker. Now it equals the Wall Mount.

Introduction

I needed a Wall Mount for my 7" Tablet running Home Assistant. The problem was that i could not drill holes into the wall where i wanted the tablet becaus auf electric wires running there.

I wanted something invisible.

Use TESA Double sided Tape (i used 55740) or similar to glue the parts on the Wall and on the tablet.

You can print as much distance pieces and rails as you need since the design is universal it will always fit.

Jewelry Box with dividers

I created 2 different removable dividers for the box that separate it into 2 or 4 sections. They are the right height to place both dividers inside at the same time when giving it as a gift. I also created a box shaped floor panel that gives enough room on the sides to wrap around Velvet (what I used) or any material and glue it to the back side. I used a thick padding on the floor panel first and then used velvet material to go over (See last pictures above). When the floor panel is done, it will fit tightly in place as you push it evenly toward the floor. I put some hot glue in the bottom before I pushed the velvet floor panel down into place. Though it was so tight that the glue probably wasn't necessary. I also created a placard for the bottom of the lid so you could put a message or someone's name on it. I used some 5 minute epoxy to glue it to the lid. Yes, you could model the name right into the lid itself, but sometimes we like to have gifts printed first and ready to go before we know who we are even giving them too. So the placard makes the gift extra special and gives you flexibility to print the box before you know who the recipient is. This box and all pieces have already been scaled to what I thought was a nice sized jewelry box but you are free to scale it how you like. Though if you go smaller, I don't know how the divider pieces will do.
Now go make someone very happy!

Desiccant Box (DryBox)

$

I created this to be reduced in size from the original by .75 to reduce print time, use less desiccant and just be physically smaller. I added a center chamber to increase airflow through the desiccant and again reduce the desiccant used. I also added more holes. Laid both the lid and the box out on the build platform together and printed great. The lid fits perfect with no cleanup needed.

[UPDATED 2017-09-16]
Added a chamfer to the bottom of the support ribs that support the top of the center column for easier printing.

Also Added a though hole version (OpenE) for better air circulation and to allow airflow if stacking multiple boxes on top of each other. Fill to even with top of inner supports then the lid should seal the inner and outside. Do not fill above the top of the inner rib supports.

Heat Miser

Here's my sculpture of Heat Miser from the movie "The Year Without a Santa Claus". I have a friend of mine that likes Heat Miser so I thought I would sculpt a gift and 3d print it for him. Of course nothing is ever perfect but hopefully it's close enough that you could recognize it. I used Sculptris to sculpt the parts and assembled the parts in Tinkercad. I have not tried to 3d print it yet. I'm sure it will need supports. Also, I'm not sure it will stand so it may need a base added to it. If you print it, please share!

Edit: I added some crazy supports that might work.

Full Size Playing Card Holder

Update 16Nov2019: I added a new card holder that has four rows. I also created a case for this larger card holder. Additionally, I created a case that holds 8 of the original 3 row card holder.

These playing card holders work great with standard size cards. These designs should print fine with no support. I have designed cases that holds six and eight of the 3 row card holders, and a case that holds six of the four row card holder. All items print without supports.

Space Race Chess Set

The Cold War saw the United States and Soviet Union in a contest for dominion not only of the Earth, but of the heavens. Superiority in rocketry and space exploration became metrics for the success of their rival political and economic ideologies. The spacecraft and launch vehicles developed by the competing space programs differed wildly in their design philosophy but were remarkably alike in functionality--reflecting the distinct routes followed by the two superpowers in pursuit of the same goals.

Pieces:

              United States Soviet Union
---------------------------------------------------------
King: Saturn V N1
Queen: STS Buran-Energia
Bishop: Titan IIIE Vostok-K
Knight: Apollo CSM Soyuz Capsule
Rook: Lunar Module LK Lander
Pawn: Mercury Capsule Vostok Capsule

All pieces were designed to print without support except the US Space Shuttle Queen.

Axial bearing for Ciclop scanner

I needed a bearing for the Ciclop scanner. It turned out that the cheapest in the store costs 30 euros. And I decided to make it myself. I made the bearing axial - like it should be in this design, in contrast to the radial 16014 bearing.
